Portland Area Mom Questions Portland Public School's Expenditures While Teachers Lose Jobs
KATU listened to local mother, Kim Sordyl, explain her shock at Portland Public School's use of high paid community engagement officers and government affairs officers, while classroom size grows, programs are cut and teachers are laid off. The five positions highlighted in this KATU report adds up to almost a half a million dollars. All the while a local group, the Ainsworth Foundation, actively fundraises over $300,000 annually to retain teachers and programs.
